Motovun

 

MOTOVUN- in the northern part of Istria, overlooking the Mirna River valley, lies surely the most famous and attractive Istrian medieval town of Motovun. This captivating hilltop town is one of the characteristic symbols of the Istrian interior. Motovun Forest which stretches along the Mirna River valley is especially rich in truffles, the underground malodorous fungus believed to be an aphrodisiac. Istrian white truffles, whose season lasts from September to December are said to be as good as the finest Italian and French truffle. In close vicinity is also Istarske toplice, thermal spa with curative water.

Poreč

 

POREČ is a city of culture ( the Basilica Euphrasiana is registered in Unesco`s Registry of World Heritage in 1997) and fun, pleasant sun and warm sea. It is situated in the middle of the western coast of Istria. Porec has 37 km of coastline that extends from the valley of river Mirna on the north to the deep Lim Fjord on the south. Clean beaches and bays and numerous islands are a symbol of Porec. The biggest and most beautiful of all Porec islands, Sv. Nikola (Saint Nicholas), encloses the charming port of Porec. The round tower on the island Sv. Nikola, dating from 1402, is one of the oldest lighthouses in Adriatic (not in use anymore).Porec is the biggest tourist destination in Istria and one  of the biggest in Croatia.

Pula

 

PULA- the largest town on the Istrian peninsula offers a diversity of attractions to lovers of culture. The rich itinerary of its three thousand year old history, where every step you take through the old town is a landmark, begins and ends with the Roman amphitheatre.
A great tourist asset is surely 190 kilometres of indented coastline, crystal-clear sea and beaches to suit everyone’s needs: smooth and even stone surfaces or pebbles for all generations, especially families with children or “secluded” beaches hidden by untouched greenery for those who want a bit of privacy.

A unique experience will be moments of relaxation in the main town square, which has managed to retain its role as the meeting place since the Augustan Age.

 

Rovinj

ROVINJ  is situated on the western coast of the peninsula and is most definitely one of the most beautiful tourist destinations in  Croatia.
What once used to be a fishing settlement and port has grown into a very modern and sprawling tourist destination, although its old spirit can still be felt in the air, which makes for a very nice mix of old and new.
A truly beautiful coastline, dotted with many coves, capes and tiny islands. The Mediterranean climate with real Mediterranean flora and fauna, exceptional gastro offerings, and on top all of that, you have very sympathetic and kind hosts. All of these ingredients make this a truly magical place to visit, and it will forever remain in your heart.

 

Umag

The medieval town, with closepacked stone houses,narrow wandering streets and pitoresque squares, developed in a protected bay an islet, later joined to the mainland. Valuable buildings and monuments, especially from Roman rule, have been preserved in the town and its surroundings. Umag is a modern holiday resort, a motor sport, cultural and sports centre, where the international tennis tournament Croatia Open takes place every year.

Vrsar

VRSAR, town on the west coast of Istria with a strong tourist orientation and high quality accommodation facilities, abounds with magnificent natural resources: lovely beaches, wonderful coastline and rich hinterland. These were surely the reasons why Giacomo Casanova, well-known Italian adventurer, writer, “Don Juan” and gourmet “wandered” here and fell in love with Vrsar. The coastal area, where at every step of the way you can feel true Istrian hospitality, also provides a multitude of tourist offers.
